The SENIOR ACCOUNTANT is a highly visible and important role within our organization, with significant client contact. Outgoing and engaging candidates strongly encouraged to apply! The candidate in this position should aspire to be a Controller!

Technical Skills Knowledge: We are a tech-oriented company! You don’t need to know all of these coming in but do need to be a fast learner! Basic and advanced Excel skills is an essential requirement while others, especially Salesforce, are a real plus. We expect the following from qualified candidates:

1. Use Salesforce in conjunction with Accounting Seed software to execute and manage accounting including reporting and financial analysis.
2. Advanced Excel skills, including execution of pivot tables, basic and advanced formulas to manipulate data for recording transactions, financial analyses and data clean-up.
3. Data loader and XL Connector 365 plug-in knowledge to import and export Salesforce data.
4. Salesforce Apps like Checkbook.io, Stripe, Conga Composer, Avalara
5. Other related sites such as banks, credit cards, e-commerce, payment solutions, vendors etc.
6. Google for Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat and Drive.
7. Asana for project management and monthly close processes.
8. LastPass for password storage and management.

Process Development Knowledge: Identify and automate repetitive processes, – Judgement and manual processes to be replaced by logic/business rules. You will hand off well defined processes to offshore staff and monitor performance. We expect the following from qualified candidates:

1. Experience creating detailed process documentation.
2. Adept at process review and improvement.
3. Transfer processes to offshore accountants.

Accounting Operations Knowledge: We act as internal accountants for our clients! The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas on behalf of our clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation and financial statement analyses. We do not perform audits, attestation or comprehensive tax services. In addition to the above, we expect the following from qualified candidates:

1. Participation in and execution of monthly close process and statement preparation.
2. Strong GAAP understanding and analysis of balance sheet accounts.
3. Analyze and adjust/correct general ledger accounts to match supporting documentation.
4. Apply revenue recognition principals based on contract or invoice language.
5. Use Avalara or complete Sales and Use Tax returns manually (the only tax we manage).
6. Reconcile subledgers (AP, AR) to general ledger, monitor unposted entries from all ledgers.
7. Manage AP & AR including payments and collection activity.
8. Perform other accounting duties assigned by the Controller

Interface and Oversight Skills: While the Controller serves as the primary relationship manager, you will also have a significant role interfacing with others as described below:

1. Ability to work directly with multiple clients on weekly and off cycle AP payment batches.
2. Interface with vendors and customers on payment and collection issues.
3. Work with offshore staff to transfer processes, troubleshoot questions and problems, ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
